Every relationship, every team, every family has an important
conversation living just beneath the surface—one that keeps getting postponed, minimized, or quietly buried.

The Brave Conversation Path is the book that finally gives you the language, the framework, the tools, and
the confidence to step into those moments.

Rooted in decades of human resources leadership and a deep background in clinical social work, every page
of this book was written from inside the hard conversations—not above them, not about them.

Why I wrote this book

Long before this became my career, I learned the weight of hard conversations at home. Our family went through something hard—the kind of hard that tests every relationship in it—and I watched up close what it took to keep talking through the hardest moments, when every instinct said to go quiet. Different rooms, same truth: it is in the hard conversations that meaningful connection is made, people feel seen, and relationships have the opportunity to be repaired. That’s where this passion was born—not in a training room, but around a kitchen table, in the middle of something hard.

The moment I knew this book needed to exist came from a note. After one of my trainings on navigating hard conversations, an HR professional told me that a manager on her team—someone who tended to hold back—had used what she’d learned to map out a tough conversation and, for the first time, walked in and had it. The note ended with a line I have never forgotten: “In case you ever wonder if the work you’re doing is making an impact, re-read this.” That note is why this framework needed to reach further than a single training room—and why I had to write it.

I’ll be honest—I learn something from these concepts every single day. I think I always will. That’s not the exception. That’s the whole point.

From book to training

This same framework anchors The Brave Conversation Path Training—available as a half-day
or full-day experience for teams and organizations ready to put these tools into practice together.
